2008 fundraising initiatives

Christmas lights
At the beginning of December every year the Hall family of Stratford upon Avon make a huge effort to light up Masons Road with a spectacular display of festive lights.  They began the tradition of decorating their houses some seven years ago and soon after realised that visitors to the lights wanted to make a small donation, which Mr and Mrs Hall decided to give to local charities.  In 2008 the chosen charity was Helen Ley Care Centre and the amount raised was a fantastic £1,700. Our thanks go to Mr and Mrs Hall, their daughter and son-in-law. We would also like to thank Masons Road business, Bridgestone Tyres who donated £500 - the proceeds from an open day earlier in the year.

In October regular guest to Helen Ley - Wendy Hawthorne - went all out to raise money for the centre by having her head shaved. Wendy decided that she would like to give something back to the centre by fundraising, and through sponsorship raised £250. Wendy is delighted she was able to support the service the centre provides and is happy with her new, shorter hairstyle.
