The story so far
When Helen Ley House opened in January 1979 it was the first purpose-built respite home for people with multiple sclerosis in the country. It was such a success that in the early 1980s the number of rooms was increased from 12 to 23.
A major refurbishment project in 2005/06 saw the provision of en suite facilities and spacious bedrooms - 23 single and one double. The Serenity Room was added and guests are able to read, listen to music or merely sit quietly.
The start of 2009 saw completion of a new garden design with raised beds and greater wheelchair access.
